Autonomous driving is set to become reality in the near future. While the major automakers are putting the finishing touches on the technology, the Swiss idea factory Rinspeed puts man at the center of the autonomous car. At the 2014 Geneva Motor Show Rinspeed presents the "XchangE" study to the public in a world premiere. It demonstrates how cars will ‘move’ us just a few short years from now, in both senses of the word. Frank M. Rinderknecht describes the status quo like this: “So far hardly anyone has taken this to its logical conclusion from the perspective of the driver. After all, traveling in a driverless car will no longer require me to stare at the road, but will let me spend my time in a more meaningful way.“
In Geneva, the most intriguing, and likely sexy, dream car from the Italian masters of design will probably be the one being completed these days at Italdesign-Giugiaro.
Few tweets (outside the net) suggest it is the work of Maestro Giorgetto and it is an essay of superlative efficiency for comfort and interior roominess in an extremely elegant, contemporary, design.
Last year the company presented the innovative Parcour concept of a SUV-Coupe designed by Fabrizio Giugiaro.
In anticipation of the Geneva unveiling Italdesign-Giugiaro is offering a visual suggestion of what it has up its sleeves. Not much to see though. However, the profile suggests it is an aristocratic limousine with the strong character of a dynamic sculpture. The first thing that comes to mind is challenger to the Maserati. The second option is that this is the answer to the Pininfarina BMW Gran Lasso Concept. The third hypothesis is in favour of a ...new, Bugatti sport limousine.

Ever since it was first launched, back in 1983, the Fiat Panda 4x4 has been a great market success in Italy and the nearby Alpine countries, France, Switzerland and Austria for its unique capabilities condensed into a small and light package. The great size/carrying capacity ratio, the big (for a small city car) wheels, the than very rare 4x4 transmission made it an instant success that never faded away.
The second generation designed by Bertone added size, roominess, height and style and the success is continue. The Fiat Panda range is granting the highest earning ratio to the brand.
Fiat believes it can do better, with the extra touch of style and image of the Panda Cross, positioned over the Panda 4x4 and the Panda Trekking.
The city-car-by-definition that farmers and gentlemen drive in the countryside is taking a colourful look that shows it further enhanced capabilities and ambitions.
