Born in Milano in 1944, Giancarlo Perini graduated from the Turin University is the European editor of Car Styling since 1974 and contributed to many publications around the world. His reports have been translated in twelve languages. In his early years worked for Style Auto magazine (1967-1970) before joining Italdesign as the right hand man of Giorgetto Giugiaro. In charge of public relation, communication and promotions he established and managed the Industrial Design division (now Giugiaro Design) and contributed to a number of projects, including the Alfa Romeo New York Taxi and the Lotus Elite.
Giancarlo started his own business in 1974 reporting for leading motoring magazine around the world, such as Auto Motor und Sport (D), Car (UK) Automotive News, Car and Driver and Wards (U.S.A.), Motor Fan, Genroq, Rosso (J), AutoFan (PRC). Inter alias, he has been Director of Communication at Automobili Lamborghini and the author of books on Bertone, BMW, Giugiaro, Italdesign, Pininfarina, dedicated to the history and culture of automotive design.
